Thank you for considering a volunteer position at Marshall Point Lighthouse and Museum

The Marshall Point Lighthouse and Museum is an exciting place to volunteer. Not only will you meet full-time and summer residents, but also thousands of visitors from throughout the United States and many foreign countries; interesting conversations and friendships are sure to enliven your day.

Volunteers are important to the operation of the Marshall Point Lighthouse and Museum. Their friendly demeanor and willingness to engage visitors is what makes Marshall Point such a wonderful experience for so many visitors, including many who return year-after-year.

Two volunteers work in tandem during a half-day shift, greeting visitors, answering questions and assisting with purchases in the shop.

Helpful training and information about exhibits and frequently asked questions are provided to put you at ease. Some knowledge of the local area is helpful in giving directions to other local points of interest, restaurants, accommodations, etc. Many pamphlets and free magazines are available to offer visitors which describe various services and attractions in the mid-coast area.
